Grand Award Judge — Physics & Astronomy

The credential that shapes how every project is read and advised: method, novelty, independence, and defence — from inside the evaluation room of the Society for Science's International Science & Engineering Fair, in 2023 and 2024 (acceptance on file).

What the Fair Demands

The Standard · 评审标准

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair is the culmination of a worldwide network of affiliated fairs. A project that reaches the floor must be original, independently executed, and defensible to subject specialists — not merely well-presented. Grand Award judges evaluate the research itself, then question the student directly at the board.

Tian2 advises across every phase — question selection, experimental or computational design, the write-up, the display board, and the oral defence — with the standard held steady by a Grand Award Judge's read of what actually distinguishes a first-award project from a finalist.

How the Work Moves

Five Phases · 工作方法
01

Scope

Question selection and a genuine novelty check against the field's prior art.

02

Design

Methodology, honest controls, and a statistical plan set before data is taken.

03

Write

Research paper and abstract to SRC / ISEF format, clear to a non-specialist.

04

Board

Display-board structure and the narrative arc a judge reads in ninety seconds.

05

Defend

Oral-defence rehearsal with evaluator-level Q&A — the questions judges actually ask.
